Emily Wu

Ok, I had a previous sketch I did of Emily, but just didn't like it. This one turned out more the way I want, although I'm not 100% on the skintone. Anyone have recommendations for Asian skin tone? CMYK preferrably, but RGB is helpful too.

Valdez in Color

I may change the hair slightly, but this is the basic concept for the upcoming flash animation. I'm still going through different mouths, eyes, etc. to make animating easier in Flash. We'll see. I may post other "friends" as they come or as I find the time to color/trace them.

I thought it might be easier just to create characters in Illustrator/Photoshop from scratch, but I didn't know Illustrator that well in the past and have had to gain proficiency lately and really like tracing my own sketches. Maybe I'm just old school, and maybe me and Wacom don't get along, but I like drawing by hand.

Lady Lynda

I think I'm about to become a Lynda.com graduate, at least with an A.A. I first got to know Flash back in 2000 and then never used those skills again and lost them. God bless Lady Lynda for showing me the way back home.

I'm sure the animation will be a little rough to begin with, but hey, it's not like anyone's reading the progress of this anyways. I just have ideas that keep pouring in and no animation to put them on, so slowly with Lynda I'm getting there. I'll have to post a sample. Anyways, enjoy, when you do finally discover/read this blog, even if it is a year from this date.
